[opensuse-factory] Wrong colors in VLC
No idea if factory is the right place, probably not, but please guide me :) Current vlc and/or its mozillaplugin acts in a strange manner. I can't really explain the looks of it so here's samples: Sample from 11.0: http://waxborg.servepics.com/testsite/snapshot.01.png Sample from factory: http://waxborg.servepics.com/testsite/snapshot.02.png Colors are wrong. Reverted is not quite it but something I am not able to describe correctly. Yes, your example does show wrong colors. Please post the source of the factory sample so I can see what my system displays? ie: it may be there is something askew with your factory. I find nothing wrong with my vlc from command-line or firefox, even using it to view jpg's. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

By source you mean the video? They all show the same way, but here's another clip: http://waxborg.servepics.com/testsite/crash_hayden_sachsen_09.avi My factory has vlc 1.0.1-2.17, this is screwed up My 11.0 has vlc 1.0.1-2.2 this works fine There's 1.0.1.-2.3 available for 11.0 but I don't think I dare to upgrade, I've seen all kinds of strange stuff during time with different versions of vlc, both with packman and videolan versions. Windows ones have always worked, not that I would have gained much experience though. This colour skew thingy is new...

What version is that? Vahis -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

My 11.0 has vlc 1.0.1-2.2 this works fine There's 1.0.1.-2.3 available for 11.0 but I don't think I dare to upgrade,
I do not have an install < 11.2 to test...

one warning I remember from sometime ago and may not still be applicable, "must not mix versions/libraries from vlc and packman".
This colour skew thingy is new...

Since you have it working I'll blame VMWare. OTOH Mplayer works fine and this problem is only in this particular vm. I'll try on real hardware in a few days...
