Yes, I see that. I installed "rsyslog" but it didn't start. So I tried starting at the root command line and got the same error. I suggest that you file a bug report. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

We need FACTORY version of rsyslog instead. It's a know problem of mixing with old rsyslog and newer json-c. Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

The idea and what I was discussing with coolo was to use rsyslog _and_ json-c from SLE12. I thought this was happening a few weeks ago? Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It was done, but it doesn't work as expected somehow: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Leap:42.1/rsyslog But I would not want the Factory version of rsyslog in Leap. Please check SR#330270 which back-ports a build fix that went into
Base:System/rsyslog a year ago and is now in upstream versions more
recent than 8.4.0.

So this will branch off from SLE12 version. We really need to consider how to manage Leap-specific fixes on SLE12 packages... Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I may very well be that the Leap development and maintenance model is
incomplete in that regard, but not more than it was between SLE and Factory.
The SLE maintainer is aware of this change.

True. It's OK as long as the change can be kept minimal and taken care.
The SLE maintainer is aware of this change.
But how the maintainer's awareness assured? This is my concern. thanks, Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
