Packages changed: pam-config (0.91 -> 0.89)
Due to the issues seen in snapshot 0605, pam-config has been reverted to version 0.89 (in fact, the version bump was not the issue, the other .spec file changes were the problem.. that just as a side note). Users that have installed snapshot 0506 are safe to 'downgrade' again to pam-config-0.89 (already some brave people tested and reported successs) or, as you likely recovered the failure of the 0605 snapshot, you can also keep pam-config-0.91 in place... it does not matter. For users that happened to not update to the 0605 snapshot: it is now safe again to update and not run into the issues seen in the last days. Have a lot of fun! This snapshot didn’t fix the issue of the installer getting stuck on 'preparing disks’. Is this being looked into?

Where and when did you report this? What's the bug referencee? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
It has been reported on the forums: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/518251-New-instalation-hangs-on-p... I haven’t reported it myself, but am having the same issue. Considering that it’s quite a crucial problem I assumed it was known. I’ve done multiple Tumbleweed installations on my machine before without any problems. I’m quite new to the openSUSE community. What’s the correct bug reporting procedure?

Hi, For one, please don't top-post on the mailing list - people tend to read text from top to bottom, where the quoted text hopefully gives some context to what you're writing. On Fri, 2016-06-10 at 01:15 +0200, Simon-Claudius Wystrach wrote:

I haven't heard about it - and I guess many others have neither. Ou rautomated test tool (openQA) insalls each snapshot roughly 80 times in different setups (https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/overview?distri=ope nsuse&version=Tumbleweed&build=20160607&group=openSUSE%20Tumbleweed is the overview page for the 0607 snapshot); this includes normal installs, raid installs, lvm, encrypted, updates from various other versions, ...

https://bugs.opensuse.org/ should get you started in this case. Be prepared to provide logs from an installation attempt. Cheers, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for your thorough explanation. I shall look into filing a bug report. For what it’s worth, I tried installing the newest snapshot running into the same issue and there are additional reports popping up on the forums: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/518322-Unable-to-install-Tumblewe... https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/518207-Alienware-R3-Tumbleweed-in... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
