OH! I must have missed that you try running vlc in a VM! Sorry for that.
I had that impression for a while :)
I'll have to try to reproduce this behavior in a VM. It might well be some updates happening. What version of vmware are you running?
Dominique
The free-as-beer 1.0.9 build-156507
I installed an 11.0 in vmware. As we know vlc-1.0.1-2.4 runs fine in that on _real HW_. But now, in VM: The error is there.
I did put the blame on VMWare once earlier in some post, didn't I?
I have now tested also in a fresh VMWare guest 11.0/KDE 4.3 with this clip: http://waxborg.servepics.com/testsite/crash_hayden_sachsen_09.avi Kaffeine: works fine Smplayer: works fine VLC has wrong colors in player http://waxborg.servepics.com/testsite/ksnapshot1.png Funny thing is, that VLC's own snapshot has correct colors: http://waxborg.servepics.com/testsite/vlcsnap.png The same goes with current factory, except that Kaffeine does not show anything. Packman has no 11.2 packages AFAIK, the working smplayer is from 11.1 repo So I can confirm that in real hardware they all work, in VMWare VLC has problem in all versions. Kaffeine in factory does not work, I hadn't expected that, YaST does not let me install libxine1 from packman.
