I think it does add to the discussion and it should change your thinking. It is not a "threat", but a clue of what some of your clients think. If a client warns me that he will not buy my product if I implement a certain change, I would take that very seriously. Seriously enough to do a survey and find out if that would be a generalized behavior. A client may be vociferous. What he says may or may not be what everybody thinks.
