Apparently, 12.1 has added /var/tmp/ to TMP_DIRS_TO_CLEAR in /etc/sysconfig/cron. I was quite surprised when I found out today that I've lost a few GB of data, which used to be safe there.
Needless to say that I'm not pleased. No backups, because it wasn't *that* important, but I find such changes without warning suboptimal, to put it politely.

----------------- I would agree with the above. Traditionally /var/tmp has been in "LONG_TMP_DIRS_TO_CLEAR"... I have them set to 'autoclean at 21 and 42 days', respectively. I think it would be irresponsible and violate normal unix-cleaning standards to treat /var/tmp the same as /tmp. If the desire was to treat them the same, then there would never have been two separate directories in the first place! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
