On 3 x86_64 systems:- * rebooting new kernel with systemd and plymouth. * nouveau loaded and I needed to install the proprietary nvidia 295.40 after a zypper dup had overwritten /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so. * plymouth progress stops. * Alt-F1 keyboard inactive for login but CTRL-ALT-DEL works. * Only login access is via ssh from another box. * If there is no xorg.conf nouveau gets loaded. If there is a xorg.conf nouveau modules not loaded. * Kill X and kdm if noveau is loaded. * Nvidia driver package now installs. * Reboot into KDE either reboot command over ssh or CTRL-ALT-DEL on local box. I suppose if there isn't a route to login via ssh, booting from CD/DVD and creating a dummy xorg.conf wold be the only recourse. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
