Where has the information previously held in xorg.conf being held?
Nowhere. It is automatically generated at runtime, everytime.
/etc/X11/xorg.conf can be removed with no effect. SaX2 write xorg.conf correctly but X fails to read it. I would like to add <CTRL><ALT><+/-> as in the older distributions
You can add your "modifications" without having the rest of the file. It has been commented previously here, but I can't find my notes on that right now. I think that "xorg --configure" generates the file. Sax should generate it, too. Ah, you say it is not read... :-? - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
