Is the xf86-video-intel - Intel video driver for the Xorg X server the same as what Intel provides on their website here:

I wanted also to try it out, but the source code is not available and there is not rpms for openSUSE. Would be nice to get the source code and build our own package.
I also noticed that it was missing. I wonder why openSUSE isn't included on their website.
Because it doesn't need to be? What you see there are two package types: DEB (aka Ubuntu aka Debian, Mint, etc) RPM (aka Fedora aka Mageia, openSUSE, etc) Do you see instructions there what to do if it makes things worse? Would you know what to do if that happened? If you want to know if the latest Intel driver works better on your system, and don't already have a Factory installation, add one and see. If the Factory driver and Intel's latest are not now one and the same, it shouldn't be long before they are. Intel only releases at 3 month intervals. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Proverbs 16:21 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg.
