I installed nVidia driver first. I followed instructions from this mailing list (patching the driver and so on) and that went ok.
It happened to me while testing beta3. Re-install the Xgl server package and try again. I couldn't get it to work. I could manage to get the X server to run but it didn't have the GL extension that compiz requires, "texture" something. (and I did follow the instructions accurately.)
Hm... I'll try to do it again, as soon as I reboot my machine (internet does not work on oss 10.1 beta4 because of rt2500 bug). -- Igor Jagec
