2. DOESN'T CRASH (like all GNOME stuff I tried)
You sure you don't have bad hardware, because I yet have to see Gnome stuff crash. And when you then say that ALL gnome stuff crashed with you, I would asume there is something else going on.
MY hadrwaee is ok, and works with KDE .
Then it is extremely strange that everything Gnome related crashes. For me that it works with KDE does not mean that the hardware is OK. Just blaming Gnome for this without any investigation looks more like an emotional then a rational conclusion. e.g. I have seen broken memory that worked perfectly with Windows and Linux crashed. To draw the conclusion that the fault was with Linux was a wrong one. So again if everything Gnome related crashes, I would really think there is something terribly different wrong. If it were a Gnome issue, I am sure I would have the same problem. Could you be perhaps be more specifc, so I (and others) can see if they have the same issues and we can solve the problems. I run neither KDE nor Gnome so from me there won't be a pollitical statement, yet I would like to solve it for the benefit of others. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit.
