I would vote for providing the sub-repos.
I have seen people having packman defined several times. If the subrepos are provided that easy, people will have all of them defined, plus the complete one.
Yeah, the "better add one too many, than one too few" approach.
I also lean towards having all of them there would be too "confusing for users" and bloat up the repo list. But maybe just adding "Essentials" as a lighter alternative, might be worth considering.
Doesn't seem that flash-player is in essentials though :-
I don't understand why bother shipping Flash Player from Packman, since adobe is doing a rpm package which is working out of the box on openSUSE and is even providing a yum repository which is working nicely with zypper. The simplest way is to direct users to do: zypper ar --check --refresh http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/linux/x86_64/ adobe then zypper in flash-plugin and that's it. This way, we know the flash plugin will ALWAYS be up to date, until Adobe decided to kill it in the future. I've taken the liberty to edit the wiki page to add this option as the first option (and removed the "local repository" option, since there is no point in documenting this). -- Frederic Crozat Enterprise Desktop Release Manager SUSE -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
