A website showed a way to test it using lptest and that worked for a test page. Where are what is causing it not to print? Sometimes it will wake up the display and says "Rec. Data" and then "Sleep".
Perhaps it is https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=559697
maybe this is somehow related (?): http://georgherdt.de/technology/epson-c1100-on-opensuse-11.2.html Using ghostscript-library-8.64-23.1 from repo Printing:ghostscript/openSUSE_11.2 instead of standard distribution's version solved non printing issue with EPSON Aculaser C1100 and Brother HL-2030.
