Hi, .... Is the status better with Factory or is there still no usable way (for endusers w/o having to destroy their basesystem) to get H.264 support through GStreamer 1.0? Because then it makes no sense to switch Firefox to it yet.
Hi Wolfgang, i'm not sure which tests should be executed, but at least i've succesfully played H.264 videos with Firefox from mozilla:alpha. Running Factory, and have installed:
sounds good.
gstreamer-libnice gstreamer-plugins-good-extra gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly-orig-addon gstreamer-plugins-libav gstreamer-plugins-bad-orig-addon gstreamer-plugins-base gstreamer gstreamer-plugins-good gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-utils libgstreamer-1_0-0
In the end the minimal requirement would be interesting for me to put it as Recommends into the package.
Having Firefox with gstreamer 1.0 API would be one of last pieces of puzzle to get KDE Live CD fully 1.0 ready for 13.2 =)
That should be no issue. The GStreamer 1.0 support is official with Firefox 30 which will be released in around 13 weeks. This should fit into the 13.2 release cycle (I think).
