IS this realy the general consensus? And if so, is it the users needs that are being considered? That there is no interest in adding anything regarding multimedia because there "might" be a problem somwhere? I would gladly pay a fee each month (like Mandrivas solution) to Novell/openSUSE if I got access to certain closed products i need. That would also help openSUSE and maybe make openSUSE more "free" from the corporate goals of Novell. Please , if the "all SW has to be GPL" fanatics run out, I will not even consider replying. I would expect it to be an approach to find solutions to this problem rather than to roll over and play dead. I can help help to test these to patterns if included. I certanly need them and has been advocating a home server solution for a while. For me it would also be good if it was possible with a common authentication/login solution embedded in to the home solution. I think the lack of responce to this thread is based on the fact that without the ability to redistribute and or include pathways to the codecs, the project is unsupportable here. If anyone is interested in this project, the componenets have already been collected into one location, http://linuxmce.com/ , coverting this collection to RPM and openSUSE compatible installation routines would be the best suggestion. It may even be supportable as a separate project page with help from guru and packman.
