we added a "fix" to alsa for RC1 to force alsa apps to go through pulseaudio, and that broke KDE. A fix is already accepted and prepared for RC2/GM
Thanks. I assume that the fix will show up in Factory or somewhere soon.
yes, the packages have been accepted now, but if you are using KDe, just remove the mention to /etc/asound-pulse.conf from the /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf file, that should do it -- Rodrigo Moya

------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for the quick response. I just commented out the line you mentioned above and my sound is now working. I will now wait for the actual update. Thanks again

Later update. Did a system update with YaST online update. Before update sound was working from YaST Hardware and KDE applications with the line referring to /etc/asound-pulse.conf commented out. After update found no sound again. Looked at alsa.conf and found the comment go. The update came from the main respository which indicated the same rev level as factory.
Did I update to soon for your changes being in place? Recommented the statment out and sound now works again.
if the line has gone away, it should work. What error messages do you see when you run
audio apps ?
