Hi, JFYI, the openSUSE:Factory:Contrib used so far the generic OBS gpg key. This key only ensures that packages were built in OBS at all, but not in which project. [opensuse-factory] Contrib Status and Package Failures - Drop Candiates

Hi, I have reviewed some of the failures of the Contrib repo on 11.3 and there are a few packages which might be fixed by upgrades to a newer version, some have coding failures which are not tolerated by the newer GCC and some because of missing dependencies. I have fixed a couple of build failures where the fix was simple and obvious. But in other cases, I hope maintainers can provide build fixes which are not too invasive. Some are definite candidates for a drop: xlogmaster - missing gtk-devel dropped workrave - needs kde3sdk - move to KDE3 ? tangerine - needs beagle-devel antiword - needs glib-devel, but in this case antiword is still useful for other packages In addition, these packages fail: https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?arch_i586=1&defaults=0&failed=1&… The objective of this exercise was to try an avoid bit rot of packages in Contrib which may have been submitted for earlier versions, but now fail on with the latest versions of openSUSE. For build-compare, we compare that the files are the same of the current build and the last build - and thus throw away the new build if they are the same. For this we can ignore all timestamps. Hi, I've changed the way libsoup works at the request of the security team. This change will hit GNOME:Factory today, and Factory some time this week, I guess. This does not change 11.1, 11.2 nor 11.3. A recent change in upstream libsoup made it use only SSL 3.0 for https, because of bugs on various servers, which were causing issues when libsoup was trying to use TLS. However, the security team wanted to keep TLS if possible, so we patch this behavior. Note that upstream wants to fix this correctly in the long term, but it requires rewriting quite some code (while our patch is just a one-line patch). As a result, libsoup users *might* have issues on some https websites. If this happens, this will be most visible in webkitgtk, and therefore in epiphany. If you hit such an issue, please file a bug and cc me. I just did zypper dup on an i845G system, rebooted into runlevel 3 with the 2.6.36 kernel, logged in, did startx, logged out. 1-startx never exited, so I hit Ctrl-C to get a prompt back 2-did "Off", which is a shutdown alias. Entire output: 'umount: /root/.gvfx: not mounted' 3-on another tty I logged in as root, then init 0 10 minutes later the machine still shows on the root login's screen: ... [opensuse-factory] new subpackages in virtualbox-ose package

Hi all, I created for virtualbox-ose package three new subpackages : python-virtualbox-ose,virtualbox-ose-devel and virtualbox-ose-qt see bug report from Vincent: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=636858 - so now if you want to use vboxgtk (GUI interface written in python+GTK) you don't have to install qt dependent part (use zypper addlock virtualbox-ose-qt in this case) as I don't want to confuse users,and I suppose they expect QT interface after installation of virtualbox-ose package, so as a dependency between virtualbox-ose and virtualbox-ose-qt I used "Recommends" keyword (this should handle also update from 11.3 to 11.4): Name: virtualbox-ose ... Recommends: %{name}-qt = %version ... So by default virtualbox-ose installation will trigger also installation of virtualbox-ose-qt .... [opensuse-factory] Do we really need the gpm package (general purpose mouse for console)

Does it still make sense to ship this package and compile our packages against it or should it get dropped? Hi, The update to latest qt, kde and python at the same time was a bit too much, but the FTP tree building atm should have it all, in any case watch out for problems when you DUP. Next step is kernel 2.6.36-rc3 and a new round of Xorg updates (including xeyes 1.1!)
