[opensuse-factory] X resource handling broken

After upgrading almost all packages related to graphics so that I get a working configuration for my i945 card (and I really need the bleeding edge, or it crashes in various ways), I suddenly can't start Emacs or any other program which relies on X resources. I get errors like Undefined color: "WINDOW_FOREGROUND" and indeed, saying appres I see *XmTextField.background: WINDOW_BACKGROUND *XmTextField.foreground: WINDOW_FOREGROUND *Dialog.background: BACKGROUND *Dialog.foreground: FOREGROUND ... which means that strings like WINDOW_BACKGROUND aren't expanded to proper colours. I use KDE. Is this a known problem? Which package or initialization script is responsible for this expansion? Hi, The libpng update to 14 caused a lot of pain and now we're set back 2 days for Milestone5 - still having ~2000 packages to build. So if we can meet friday, it would be very late. So I rather go with monday and be safe. The factory tree synced out today and is already marked as M5, but we had to fix the libpng14-32bit thing, because gtk2-32bit depends on it and with it a lot of things x86_64 users have installed. [opensuse-factory] Coordinated upgrade to jack2 for FACTORY / 11.3

Hi, I got a contact from Debian Multimedia team about the possibility of coordinated upgrade of JACK package from version 1 to version 2 on SUSE. That is, major distros, Debian, Ubuntu, and others will upgrade the package for jack simultaneously in order to avoid confusion among distros. From the technical viewpoint, there shouldn't be big obstacles for us -- JACK2 is ABI compatible with JACK1, and it's being used already on Packman repo, IIRC. I think Dave already has managed jack2 stuff in his repo for some time, too. Thus the movement should be relatively simple. But, my question here is whether this is allowed now for FACTORY / 11.3 at this moment. I know this kind of thing should have been handled through FATE. But if we do this, it should be done quickly in a timely manner. So, I'm asking just here for a quick decision. [opensuse-factory] getting openSSL up-to-date?

I can imagine most people around here are over their head busy with testing the new milestone, but.... Any chance op doing some major steps (11.2, 11.2, not just 11.3) for openssl? afaicr it was not so long ago that the path for moving to the "K" version was distributed here. But when looking at the openssl site i noticed: 25-feb: OpenSSL 0.9.8m is now available, including important bug and security fixes 24-mar: OpenSSL 0.9.8n is now available, including important bug and security fixes 29-mar: OpenSSL 1.0.0 is now available, a major release I might say that openssl is just as important as packages like apache, which _is_ up-to-date. I updated via the M4 netiso to find wrong kernelnumber in menu.lst: ~33-5, instead of ~33-6 (corrected this so the os booted) Booted until X, which still was not present... Hey Group; As of last nights zypper up something has changed and now acroread-9.2 fails. What is another application that KDE has to read pdf. The build for factory loads orc and liborc, as does the 11.2 build. I'll have a closer look at the orc package maybe 11.2 liboil has something to do with it?
