Unfortunatly there is a lack of Windows or X11 based mail programs which can read maildir format. Even though it is ideal for network workstations.
There are a few around - well Unix/X11 ones, no windows ones I know of.
Interesting, could you give some pointers?
However if you run both the courier-imap and sqwebmail, you can then read through the web or using any imap enabled client (including outlook and netscape).
The advantage of a program which simply looks in ~/Maildir is that it dosn't need the user to either enter or store passwords. They just run the program and it looks at the files. Web and IMAP make more sense, IMHO, where the machine dosn't have access to the relevent files directly (as either ~/Maildir or X:\Maildir, maildir was designed to cope with NFS, it manages just as well with SMB/CIFS). e.g. from home...
If you add maildrop to the mix, you can then also do mail filtering on delivery, and whats more sqwebmail gives you a web GUI for editing your mail filters.
Or rather it would if I had time to get the latest version set up... -- Mark Evans St. Peter's CofE High School Phone: +44 1392 204764 X109 Fax: +44 1392 204763
