Back to the notion of promoting Linux as the ideal file/multi-use server for the smaller school... A message posted today on another list to which I subscribe invites suggestions for firms to provide a file server for a prep school in Kent. I don't know much more about there set-up. I plan to respond and say how brilliantly and cheaply a Linux box running Samba would do the job, but it would be nice if I could point my counterpart there in the direction of a firm who could set it up and provide any necessary support in case this school didn't want, or didn't have the expertise (!), to do it themselves. What do you reckon folks? Any takers? Miles Berry Deputy Head St Ives School, Haslemere www.st-ives.surrey.sch.uk
