Dear Anyone
I've got a windoze machine -sorry - I'm putting in 2nd hard drive to put Red Hat 7.2 on - do I have to format hard drive first?
The Red Hat install will do this for you.
I'v got a LTSP set up at school - need to find and try out as much Linux educational stuff as I can at home.
Seems an odd way to do things, do you have better internet connectivity at home?
I'm going to be using Linux at home for my personal use as well - but have to keep Windoze for games
One of the problems I have is with question like "will <prog> run on Wine"? Answer not sure, I haven't the software nor the time to try it. What would be really useful would be a list education apps that have been tested on WINE with comments such as "runs mostly but ... " or you need to do this first then it will etc. If anyone has tried specific apps in their schools and E-mails me I'll compile a knowledge base for general consumption. I have also had a lot of interest in Linux as a low cost access terminal for the education portals of DigitalBrain and Goal Plc. If anyone knows of any bits of these that cause problems to Linux browsers that too would be useful. In principle DB say they will do their best to fix any problems because they are dependent on access to customers and getting sufficient terminals to dedicate to this an a school is a particular problem - we have the solution!
