I must say that I don't find that many strong visual representations of "Philosophy" and in combination with Greece you will even get less.
Please remember the theme is mainly something we need as starting point for creatives, it doesn't have to make much sense, it just should have some connection to oSC13 and the motto.
I also find it a bit dull to go for the most obvious thing. I must say, I'm not convinced. I have to agree with Henne. If I had to think about artwork, and I do not claim to be an artist, and the motto to create artwork around is "Philosophy" then there are few things that come to mind that I can associate with the term. However, a word like "Play" creates a much richer word and concept association to have fun with when creating artwork.

Then again, I am not writing the text nor will I be creating any artwork and thus I should probably just stop adding mail to this thread. Well, I ya'll agree a playful element needs to be added, then helping to

Maybe somehow focus on the properties in Greece which (helped) make the great age of philosophy possible: the climate which was so conductive to growing food, enabling larger cities etc.
I am thinking 'beach' but am afraid that that will bring too much of a frivolous message, making the event not to be taken serious - which is bad esp for sponsors (but won't be appreciated in SUSE either).
Summer, then? Power to the Geeko? Summer, Philosophy and Change (or Summer, History and Change)
Does that work?
Robert As far as I know, we'll have collaboration summer camp. So summer, beach etc fit there ;-) All the other mentioned on this thread, will give us more ideas.
