Hello I checked some packages on the Open SUSE Build service and they are still on the 'blocked' list after 36 hours or so, Is that normal waiting times , and can that be sped up in any way, so a 24 hour turnaround may be possible. If a project A has a <path> to another project B and that has a <path> to C then a package in A should look in A,B,C to resolve build depends So.... if a project A has a <path> to another project B and that has 4 <path>s to C,D,E,F then my package should look in A,B,C,D,E,F to resolve build depends. Hi, I am looking to understand some curious behavior I am observing w.r.t. cifs-mount. On my openSUSE 11.1 box: -> rpm -q --whatprovides /sbin/mount.cifs cifs-mount-3.2.7-11.4.1 And when I use the software search facility I can find a package there. Yet when searching the build service for cifs-mount it comes up empty. So how can the software search come up with a package that apparently does not get built? I think a recent change to OBS results in a failure to handle some Build-Depends: in debian packages. In the .dsc having: Build-Depends: <<snip>> lzma, binutils (>= 2.19.1) | binutils-multiarch (>= 2.19.1), <<snip>> Results in nothing provides binutils >= 2.19.1 | binutils-multiarch >= 2.19.1 See: Maemo:Mer:Tools:cross:gcc-4.3-test gcc-4.3 removing the "| binutils-multiarch (>= 2.19.1)" fixes the problem. HI, How does one set up a build order for packages in a project? For example home:rjschwei:perl-perlcritic/perl-Test-SubCalls requires that home:rjschwei:perl-perlcritic/perl-Hook-LexWrap is built first or there will be an "expansion error" (https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?arch=x86_64&code=expansion+error…) Yet it appears that when the build is scheduled the perl-Test-SubCalls is scheduled prior to the build of perl-Hook-LexWrap. It appears to me that BuildRequires is not being taken into account when package builds are being scheduled. Am I missing some feature that allows me to set up the proper build order or is there something else I am missing? Help is appreciated. In our local 1.5 instance of obs-server, we have a tool that will branch all packages that depend on a given package. We use it for testing kernel changes to ensure that all the kmps will work after the change, among other things. Hi, what about adding http range request support [1] to the backend? After I comitted r8169 ("get only the last N bytes of a logfile") last week darix suggested to use the http "Range" header instead of the "start" and "end" query parameters. The advantage of using the range header is that it is already part of the protocol and the range header isn't limited to the "getlogfile()" function (we can use it whenever a file is replied). The attached patch adds initial range header support to the backend (it also supports multiple range requests [2]). Comments, objections etc. are welcome:) If there are no objections I'm going to commit it and the next step will be to implement range support in BSServerEvents::reply_file (or rather in the corresponding "stream" functions). Hello, some updates from our OBS development front: * osc 0.123 release candidate * obs-server 1.7 Alpha 1 candidate * Updated Junior Jobs osc 0.123 RC 1 ============== There is a new osc 0.123 RC 1 package inside of the openSUSE:Tools:Unstable project. Beside some important bugfixes, it contains new support for SSL handshake library python-m2crypto. This lib is validating the server certificates now and protects you for a man-in-the-middle attack. An update is therefore recommended, but it needs the new python-m2crypto package. It builds on almost all platforms, just not yet for Ubuntu. If someone knows how to get a secure python SSL layer on Ubuntu, I would be happy about a mail, patch or submit request :) http://software.opensuse.org/search?baseproject=openSUSE%3ATools%3AUnstable… I will release this one as stable as soon as I heard enough positive feedback. Please try it and report thanks ! (downgrade to the 0.122 one from openSUSE:Tools is easy in case of problems) obs-server 1.7.0 Alpha 1 release candidate ========================================== openSUSE:Tools:Unstable contains also new packages for our OBS server itself. Biggest changes are the SAT based scheduler (which made opensuse.org so much faster) and SLP support in the init scripts. This means the workers should find the server themselfs without configuration. I hope to be able to build a appliance based on this packages soon for easier deployment. Hi, Adrian advised me to write here. I have the problem with building my KMP at i586 with Factory repository using OBS. Building for other platforms is successful. I checked building the rpm with opensuse 11.2 i586 livecd and It was successful. Hi, (and sorry for the cross post, please answer only on one ml with me in CC) The openSUSE Build Service is now building 11.2 in the openSUSE 11.2 project. openSUSE:Factory is de-prefered atm (building only, if really nothing else is there). The build-compare stuff is disabled for now (to ensure that all packages get the new tags and that all packages have chronical build times). We will enable it again after GA (when openSUSE:11.2 project is frozen). Hi, according to my build logs, installing something into /opt/packagename is forbidden in FHS 2.2?? What's with that now? ...especially when I read up about FHS 2.2 and its explicitly allowed to install into /opt/packagename... here's the log output: [...] snowglobe: "/opt/snowglobe/skins/default/xui/ru/panel_preferences_voice.xml" is not allowed anymore in FHS 2.2. Current bottle neck are missing build power and a more clever dispatcher. Coolo wants to work on improved dispatcher which prefers projects which are more often downloaded and also packages and projects with source changes should be prefered. - rpm and deb binary caching in the worker code implemented and deployed. Works good, but broke kiwi image building, will be fixed today. * cwh - Try to fix kiwi problems for openSUSE 11.2, found problems in OBS code while doing this, which are solved meanwhile. kiwi from openSUSE 11.2 seems to have fundamental problems with the KIWICollect module atm. * mmaier - Moved all build hosts in our server rooms, solving power connection problems. * tschmidt - worked on software.o.o, bugfixes and ported to rails 2.3.4. - cleanup api server code together with mrueckert. - Thought about better deployment methods, digged capistrano * adrian - digged into attribute code of frontend, writing missing schemas and try to get this running for openSUSE 11.2 maintenance workflow. Gitorious switch ================ General consense is that we want to go to gitorious from svn (even though we are a bit frightend of git). The suggestion from Luke to reorganize the directory structure makes very much sense, we will do so after the move. We should sync this move also with the new deployment method of our servers as suggested by Thomas. Remaining concern: gitorious has no commit mails yet, this might be a blocking issue. Commercial Support Evaluation for OBS ===================================== Novell evaluates the options for a commercial support offering atm.
