[opensuse-buildservice] fixed port number for bs_worker

Hi, this adds option --port to bs_worker for people having issues with opening all ports for the backend to connect to. It also adds OBS_WORKER_PORTBASE sysconfig variable for the rpm package. I tried it on one machine and it seems to work fine, the workers build and reboot without problems. OK to commit? Michal

[opensuse-buildservice] Problems with Release tag in spec files

I'm a new user of the openSUSE Build Service and have some problems with the way it treats the 'Release:' tag in spec files; I'd be grateful for any help. For reasons to do with the way I work, I want the RPMs to be built with unique names that show the SUSE version they were built for. 'Versioned' release numbers, as described in section 1.10 of the Package Conventions document, seemed to be the way to go. But the OBS seems to change Release numbers: - '1020.b1' to '1021.1'. - '0%{?suse_version}.11' (same package) to '1022.1'. - '1020.11' (another package) to '1020.1' - '1020.11' (same package rebuilt) to 1021.1, 1022.1 ... Some of the things I'm wondering: Is there any documentation that explains the rules in more detail than the Package Conventions document? Is it possible to use versioned release numbers in the OBS, without having the first part incremented and the second part reset to '1' each time, as seems to be happening in the above examples? Is it possible to have the OBS generate the '1020' bit of the Release number according to the target openSUSE version, as I tried to do in the second example above? [opensuse-buildservice] aggregate only certain subpackages

Hi, is it possible to aggregate only certain subpackages? devel:libraries:c_c++/curl builds curl.rpm, libcurl-devel.rpm, libcurl4.rpm and curl-ca-bundle.rpm. devel:languages:python needs libcurl-devel.rpm and libcurl4.rpm, but not curl (because we don't want to update this package on users' systems). Peter tried: cat devel:languages:python/curl/_aggregate <aggregatelist> <aggregate project="devel:libraries:c_c++"> <package>libcurl-devel</package> <package>libcurl4</package> </aggregate> </aggregatelist> but this doesn't seem to work. The webui shows "succeeded" for 10.1..10.3, but there are no rpms on the api or in the download repo (it's been ~ 1 hour since the change). There's always the option of not building curl.rpm in devel:libraries:c_c++ at all, but I'd have to find another place for this package then. [opensuse-buildservice] Software Inclusion into OpenSuse

Hello. I represent a software company that writes an accounting application made for Linux. It is not GPL software but rather Freeware. I would like to know how to get the ball rolling to have it included into future releases of opensuse. We already use opensuse for our current customer customer base. With the lack of business/accounting software in the Linux realm we think this could be a very welcome addition. Some time ago, like last year, I saw a number of failures in the testsuite of the apr library which also uses shared memory functions Those problems disappeared over time (presumably with later Xen versions). [opensuse-buildservice] Apt-get doesn't follow HTTP redirects

Hello everybody, I'm using the Build service to create packages for almost all distribution currently present in the build service. This is my repositories http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/EmmeG/ My user account is EmmeG I also created repositories for Apt-based distributions: Debian and xUbuntu... but I have problem to use them with apt because the main server download.opensuse.org reply with a "302 Found" redirect that apt-get consider an error !! :-( :-( So, if a write in sources.list the following statement: deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/EmmeG/ xUbuntu_7.10/ Then apt-get reply that it's impossible to fetch data because the server reply with the error: "302 Found" :-( :-( I searched on the web ... and I discovered that this problem was reported since 2000 to apt developers... but I think that they don't want to add the "feature" to honour the HTTP redirects in apt-get !! :-( :-( If I inspect manually the HTTP 302 response, and I put directly the hostname that mirror my repositories in this way: deb ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/EmmeG/ xUbuntu_7.10/ all goes fine and I can use my repositories without problems. But because the 302 is a temporary redirection, I cannot tell to my users to use the host above! What is the best solution to this problems ???
