In the old system this partition is mounted by volume name. I want to use another partition for the new root, so I have to change this partition by changing that it should not be mounted or should be mounted in a sub directory. However the volume name is no longer present and is wiped, so a workaround is to specify it to be mounted and then restore the volume name. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. So I booted using KDE Live, mounted the 11.2 and 11.1 in the Live system. Now I could edit save_y2logs to use /suse112m6/ to collect the data. The reason is that on my MacBook I get a crash of the installer directly after the volume label is being set. The installer somehow fails to set the volume label on the MacOS partition (which is before incorrectly identified as 'linux'), it shows a warning dialog and when I click on the button it crashes. Logically this would mean that if the above bug is fixed I can get through the installer and actually install suse on my macbook. In 11.1 and later installer should ignore labels on HFS partitions completely. You can also work around the above label problem by not pressing the "Modify Proposal" button but use the "Create Proposal" button. If you do this you get into the expert partitioner and there are no labels removed from existing partitions.
