The sound and control were fine. After the upgrade of the kernel, the sound device and sound control just disappeared, bad technical term. But it says it all. I am Unix literate. But haven't found the equivalent to prtdiag or prtconf. But that only last 'till the next reboot. OK, that should be obvious. Could you elaborate it first? The 10.3 kernel update (not FACTORY one) shouldn't cause problems, as far as I know.
