What seems to make it pretty reproducible is to login, then logout (which will work OK) and login again. After that, logouts will behave as described by Roman. I'll check top next time it happens, but I don't think it will show anything. However, for now the bug shows up infrequently. I'll see if there's any other symptoms or peculiarities that can reveal the nature of the thing happening, so maybe it would be useful to keep the ticket opened, so that other users could respond, if they find the same bug. As for bug 331577, I don't have any problems with banshee.
