Does the testpage print in the YaST printer configuration work?

I tried that from the CUPS web interface, and the double-sided test page came out well, and the additional page with the error message cited at the start of the report. To print into a file have in /etc/cups/cups-files.conf FileDevice Yes and for meaningful CUPS logging have in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf LogLevel debug and restart the cupsd. I have the vague suspect that a Control-D (end-of-job marker) is sent at the end of the job that the printer does not understand or handle.
