[Bug 412542] New: ext2ifs can no more open ext3 file system
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=412542 Summary: ext2ifs can no more open ext3 file system Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jdd@dodin.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Customer ext2ifs is an ext2/3 open source native driver for windows. It allows reading and writing of ext2/3 file system from any windows application. until openSUSE 10.3 there where no identified problem with it. but with 11, etx2ifs is no more able to open the installed opensuse partitions. the "mountdiag.exe" utility given by ext2ifs says that the inode size of the file systel is 256 and than ext2ifs can only manage 128. (option -I 128 for mkfs). This can only be changed on the file system but reformating it. I beg there is a reason to change the inode size from 128 to 256. There are two evident fixes: changing back to 128 or, better see with ext2ifs devs if the driver can be enhanced. I do understand little about file systems, so I don't know if I can help better ext2ifs hoe page is http://www.fs-driver.org/ However, I will drop a mail to the ext21ifs dev with a link to this bugzilla thanks jdd -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
