https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=308863 Summary: Instant reboot on loading kernel from install CD/DVD GRUB menu. Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gpst1@toast.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Greetings. My backup system will not boot the OpenSUSE 10.3 beta3 install program. When any of the GRUB menu options are chosen from the installation media, the kernel loading progress bar pops up, and as soon as it is loaded, the machine reboots. This has also happened with 10.2, and 10.3 beta2. Version 10.1 installed back when it came out and works fine. I also tried CentOS 5 and Fedora 7 with the same results. It is also the same thing that happens when I try to boot a 686-optimized distro on this machine(586). mainboard: Epox MVP3G2 with VIA MVP3 chipset cpu: AMD K62+ 500mHz IDE controller: Silicon Image PATA-133 controller Any boot paramters I can try besides what is on the boot menu? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
