https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828329 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828329#c0 Summary: kernel-default 3.10-0 1.1.g3dcd746 totally breaks throttling and suspend Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kkaempf@suse.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Development Blocker: --- See also https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=809473 With the latest kernel, my laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad X220) fails to suspend or hibernate is most cases. Also it drains the battery in *very* short time. I reverted to kernel 3.7.x (openSUSE 12.3) for now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This seems to be something that has plagued the Thinkpads for a while now a lsmod and hwinfo would be really nice.
Well, all was fine with openSUSE 12.2. The missing GPU throttling started with openSUSE 12.3, so I switched to 'factory' kernels. Those improved GPU throttlings a bit but broke suspend/resume on the way :-/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The missing GPU throttling started with openSUSE 12.3, so I switched to 'factory' kernels. Those improved GPU throttlings a bit but broke suspend/resume on the way :-/ IMO we should first concentrate on plain 13.1 and on one issue (power consumption vs suspend is broken). Is power consumption/waste better/good there? Is suspend working?
IMO best would be to open a new bug(s) against 13.1 if there are any. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
