[Bug 1017556] New: radeon card crashes with DRI_PRIME=1
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1017556 Bug ID: 1017556 Summary: radeon card crashes with DRI_PRIME=1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: LordSamanon@protonmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0 Build Identifier: I have a Dell laptop with an Intel iGPU and a Radeon dGPU (a Firepro W5130M, recognized as a Radeon HD 8830M by lspci). Whenever I attempt to use the radeon card it crashes. To attempt to diagnose the problem, I use glxgears to test. It works sometimes, but if I close and open glxgears a few times, it will crash and the card will cease to work until a reboot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run DRI_PRIME=1 glxgears 2. Repeatedly terminate and run this until it crashes. This only requires a few tries, crashes more reliably if you give it a few seconds in between tries Actual Results: This is dumped into the terminal radeon: Failed to allocate virtual address for buffer: radeon: size : 65536 bytes radeon: alignment : 4096 bytes radeon: domains : 4 radeon: va : 0x0000000000800000 radeon: Failed to deallocate virtual address for buffer: radeon: size : 65536 bytes radeon: va : 0x800000 radeon: Failed to allocate virtual address for buffer: radeon: size : 65536 bytes radeon: alignment : 4096 bytes radeon: domains : 4 radeon: va : 0x0000000000800000 radeon: Failed to deallocate virtual address for buffer: radeon: size : 65536 bytes radeon: va : 0x800000 radeonsi: Failed to create a context. Segmentation fault (core dumped) There is also interesting dmesg output which I will attach. I have tried running with radeon.dpm=0, no difference. Expected Results: Run reliably! Even if I don't go through this open and close process, larger applications using the card crash in a few seconds (Portal 2 for example). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
