For me, the following sequence seems to work:- 1. Select language from the Region and Language settings' dialog 2. Close the control center, or do anything but don't open the Region and Language settings' dialog again, until you log out. 3. Log out, and log back in, and I am presented the desktop in the language I had last chosen. If after step 2, you open the 'Region and Language settings' dialog again, then the changes do not take effect. Could you confirm if the above sequence works for you or not (on openSUSE 12.1). I tried several times to follow your steps, but it still does not work. After logout/login, the interface is in English and in the 'Czech' entry in 'Region and Language settings' dialog is missing. This time, it is different machine that the one where I originally noticed this problem - it is 'clean 12.1 install' with all latest updates installed. Please let me know if you need any additional info.
