[Bug 260371] New: Broadcom NetXtreme II does not work
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=260371 Summary: Broadcom NetXtreme II does not work Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: florian@oc1.rub.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Hi! I installed opensuse10.2, but the two Broadcom NetXtreme II nics doesn`t work. They are recognized by the system and i`m able to configure them in yast, but with no effect. :-( When i put a usb-realtek-card onto this computer it works, slow but it works. But when i activate a broadcom nic as a second active networkdevice with yast all network traffic is "blocked", also the traffic at the realtek-networkinterface. I don`t know what to do... Any idea? here`s my ifconfig (eth0 a broadcominterface, eth2 the realtekinterface) eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:8B:7A:A9:26 inet addr:134.147.110.101 Bcast:134.147.110.127 Mask:255.255.255.128 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:169 Memory:f4000000-f4011100 eth2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:09:17:00:06:58 inet addr:134.147.110.100 Bcast:134.147.110.127 Mask:255.255.255.128 inet6 addr: fe80::209:17ff:fe00:658/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1540 Metric:1 RX packets:6986204 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:9796254 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:3994998392 (3809.9 Mb) TX bytes:12141157901 (11578.7 Mb) lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:19144 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:19144 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:2013532 (1.9 Mb) TX bytes:2013532 (1.9 Mb) greetings florian should i attach any logfiles? which one? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

From dmesg output it seems as some driver problem. Kernel maintainers: could you check dmesg/messages output?
