[Bug 277230] New: no suse-chameleon branding
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=277230 Summary: no suse-chameleon branding Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 4 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alberto.passalacqua@tin.it QAContact: qa@suse.de I recently saw the changes made to the branding for openSUSE 10.3, which seems to be the consequence of the bugreport #263881 (conformity with the openSUSE branding). In the community there was a general approval for the previous branding, with the exception of the blue wallpaper. In particular, the geeko with the tongue out in the boot splash was really appreciated and funny, so it would be nice to have it back. It's true it doesn't conform to the official openSUSE logo, but it's not thought to replace it. Btw, openSUSE 10.2 had those terrible dancing penguins in grub, which appeared randomly for a certain period. There was no conformity with the official brandint in that too ;-) Regards, A. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I'm happy you find my take on the geeko appealing, but some order needs to be put to the way we deal with the openSUSE brand. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

But again it doesn't seem a good reason to a lot of people. If you need to put a logo, put it in the upper corner of the bootsplash, as always done, but this should not exclude the possibility of adding "decorative" representations of the chamaleon, which have nothing to do with the official logo. This need of order seems to me just another of the many excuses Novell adopted to justify various arbitrary decisions. As I already said, the logo was changed many times, without any complaint by anyone. If it was so bad, why was that bootsplash prepared and proposed? It's really a contradiction. Could you please post the original artwork somewhere for those who liked it. Thanks -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I really liked the way that was created; looks quite wonderful. :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
