--- Comment #3 from Johannes Meixner 2009-07-08 02:08:54 MDT ---
It seems it is our package name of our package which
provides what is usually known as "libusb":
On my openSUSE 11.1 i386 workstation:
---------------------------------------------------------------
user@host $ rpm -qa | grep libusb
libusbpp-0_1-4-0.1.12-136.10
libusb-0_1-4-0.1.12-136.10
libusb-devel-0.1.12-136.10
user@host $ rpm -q libusb
package libusb is not installed
user@host $ rpm -q libusb-0_1
package libusb-0_1 is not installed
user@host $ rpm -q libusb-0_1-4
libusb-0_1-4-0.1.12-136.10
user@host $ rpm -q --whatprovides libusb
no package provides libusb
user@host $ rpm -q --provides libusb-0_1-4
libusb:/usr/lib/libusb-0.1.so.4
libusb-0.1.so.4
libusb-0_1-4 = 0.1.12-136.10
user@host $ rpm -q --whatprovides libusb-0.1.so.4
libusb-0_1-4-0.1.12-136.10
---------------------------------------------------------------
Only if the third-party software tested explicitely with
"rpm -q --whatprovides libusb-0.1.so.4"
it would get a positive result but any other test fails.
Therefore any RPM query for plain "libusb" must fail
beause in openSUSE "libusb" is neither a package name
nor is it a RPM capability.
From my point of view this is a bug in our package
which provides what is usually known as "libusb".
