--- Comment #26 from Dave Plater 2008-11-17 01:37:45 MST ---
Vista box - patch include/timezone/dialog.ycp then modules/Timezone.ycp and
ycpc -c Timezone.ycp
click install - accept licence then next to timezone screen. kde time reset to
UTC +7 timezone screen time no change and timezone displayed as New York. utc
checkbox unchecked - select Johannesburg timezone time unchanged - abort
install and note kde clock reset to correct time.
I now repeat above opperation and click next to partition screen, kde clock
displays UTC -5 but timezone displayed as Johannesburg. I abort and wait for 1
minute for clock to change and see no change. Open kde clock settings menu and
without altering anything, closed again. Kde clock now displays SAST and is
correct.
Shut down and check cmos clock and note it is correct.
My opensuse 11.1 box behaved much the same as above when I checked it the
second time except when I checked the utc checkbox the time displayed was reset
to correct New York time UTC -5 - set timezone to Johannesburg and in timezone
window correct SAST displayed or UTC +2. I then clicked next to partition
screen and experienced the exact same behavior as Vista box. I then logged out
switched to console login and init to runlevel 1. Saved logs and init 6 cmos
time was correct UTC time.
Seems to work correctly.
