Summary|can't use DVD iso as a repository. |supported URI documentation missing
--- Comment #1 from Ján Kupec 2008-05-30 17:47:11 MDT ---
The correct way to add an iso repo is e.g. the following (iso URI scheme, iso
file name as the iso= parameter, URI of the dir containing the iso file as the
url= parameter):
$ zypper ar
iso:/?iso=SLES-10-SP2-DVD-x86_64-GM-DVD1.iso\&url=dir:/cml/install/iso/SLE10/SLES-10-SP2-GM
iso
Adding repository 'iso' [done]
Repository 'iso' successfully added
Enabled: Yes
Autorefresh: No
URI:
iso:///?iso=SLES-10-SP2-DVD-x86_64-GM-DVD1.iso&url=dir:/cml/install/iso/SLE10/SLES-10-SP2-GM
$ zypper ref iso
Downloading repository 'iso' metadata [done]
Building repository 'iso' cache [done]
Specified repositories have been refreshed.
Your ar (sa) command succeeded because zypper created a 'dir' URI out of it and
did not check for a valid repo data upon adding the repo. This is intended and
the repo will be checked upon refresh (where you saw the error) or you can
explicitly tell zypper to check the repo upon adding using the -c option (see
zypper help ar).
Nevertheless, i'll keep this bug open until i add documentation about how to
specify different types of URIs to man page and/or wiki.
