Your drive suffers several timeouts than falls back to UDMA/66 from UDMA/100,
after which everything works fine. It's possible that things went slightly
differently when booting from the harddisk and reading the partition table went
south while booting after installation.
* How is your drive wired? I see it's the only drive on the channel. There
are two connectors on a IDE cable, to which slot is the drive connected - the
one at the end or the middle?
* If you press ESC while booting you can see the kernel message, while booting
after installation, does the kernel print messages like the above? If so, can
you take pictures of those messages and post them here?
