'Yast2'-'Boot Loader' (grub 2),'Boot Loader Options', activated 'Use graphical console', in 'Console resolution' select '1024x786'. 'Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter'="splash=verbose". Save configuration, restart computer. Resolution starts with 1024x786, after some seconds the console resolution switches to more than 1024x768, the monitor shows 'CANNOT DISPLAY THIS VIDEO MODE'. After booting it switches back to 1024x768, login in X11 session is possible. Switching to a console by Ctrl+Alt+F1 for example again shows 'CANNOT DISPLAY THIS VIDEO MODE'.
