I'm allowing myself to reopen. It would indeed be nice if Amarok could get in
touch with its database again. ;-)
After the latest update Amarok shows a dialog w/ this error:
GREPME MySQLe query failed! (2000) on init
All information about the collection seems to be gone. Telling Amarok to
re-read the collection doesn't change anything.
I'm just using the stock openSUSE packages:
$ rpm -qa | egrep 'amarok|mysql' | sort
amarok-2.4.3-8.8.1.x86_64
amarok-lang-2.4.3-8.8.1.noarch
libmysqlclient18-32bit-5.5.23-3.6.1.x86_64
libmysqlclient18-5.5.23-3.6.1.x86_64
libmysqld18-5.5.23-3.6.1.x86_64
libqt4-sql-mysql-32bit-4.7.4-19.4.1.x86_64
libqt4-sql-mysql-4.7.4-19.4.1.x86_64
