http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=534895 Summary: Installation resolutions should include wide-screen ones Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 6 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mar.pollo@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; it; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090730 SUSE/3.5.2-2.1 Firefox/3.5.2 GTB5 AutoPager/0.5.2.2 (http://www.teesoft.info/) The installation can be done in all the standard resolutions, like 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024. Recent notebooks and netbooks usually have wide-screen screens (and sometimes even desktops) with resolutions like 1024x600, 1280x768, 1280x800 or 1400x1050. These resolutions should be natively supported, to enhance user-friendlyness during the install process. Users that are just trying linux might even think that their monitor's resolution is not supported and stop the installation. Note: I checked that 1280x768 is not supported, but maybe some other resolutions that I said are already available.
