kkaempf> Either a bug in encoding conversion or a missing font ?
Encoding problem.
These information comes from the pdb. I think it should be stored
there in UTF-8 *always*. Currently it isn’t, it is apparently
Latin-1, unfortunately.
From the PDB, these texts are generated into the rpm .spec file
without any encoding conversion.
Therefore, currently this name of the author
Håkan Hjort
is generated in Latin-1 encoding into the rpm .spec file.
When rpm is called to output this information, for example
rpm -qi a52dec
it doesn’t do any encoding conversion, it just dumps the text ‘as is’
to standard output. I think the same is happening when this text
is displayed by YaST2 as in the screen shot, the text from
the rpm database is just dumped ‘as is’ into some Qt widget
which expects UTF-8 when running in an UTF-8 locale.
