Radomír,
could you please try following?
You should have mtools installed yet.
A. Add
drive f: file="/dev/sdb1"
line into /etc/mtools.conf configuration file.
B.
1) Do you have ldlinux.sys in /mnt/sdb1/ after crash? Try as root
mattrib -h -r -s f:/ldlinux.sys
Even if there doesn't exist such file, try create one empty
file on /dev/sdb1/ and try said command.
2) If no problem here, try compile and run (again as root)

{
return(system("mattrib -h -r -s f:/ldlinux.sys"));
}
What has happened?
If there is no crash, try 1) and 2) when ldlinux.sys
doesn't exist on "f:" (remove it by mdel for example :)).
If you see the crash, then please replace -h by -H in above
commands and try failing command again.
