https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223881 Summary: Firefox takes ages to start, tries to autoconfigure when it should not. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sinderbox+novell@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de This happens on a totally new user (no ~/.mozilla/) Since it looked like a network time out I found with lsof that it was trying to connect to port 80 on a remote firewalled machine at start up. If I spoof that IP to one of my web servers I see that ==> /var/log/apache2/error_log <== [Mon Nov 27 16:46:43 2006] [error] [client XX.XX.XX.XX] File does not exist: /srv/www/htdocs/wpad.dat I have no clue where that IP comes from (if anyone can enlighten me), though it is a dyn ip that belongs to my old ISP (my router is an extra opensuse 10.1 box). However, as I stated this is a new user in a lan machine. Firefox, as default, comes configured with direct network connection, and there is no reason to look for any network autoconfiguration file (wpad.dat). Much less from dubious origins. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
