https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340966 Summary: DDNS broken in 10.3 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: axel.braun@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Hi, the switch to 10.3 completely destroyed my conviction that it is mostly enough to restore the saved configuration files to get the system up and running again. The box running on 10.0 was upgraded (new install) to 10.3, I reused the working configuration for DHCPD and BIND (OK, the safety key for DHCP_UPDATER was generated new) by applying the config and zone files, but the error still is the same: Nov 12 11:08:05 southpole dhcpd: Unable to add forward map from z60m.home.internal to 192.168.0.40: timed out Nov 12 11:08:05 southpole dhcpd: Wrote 7 leases to leases file. Nov 12 11:08:05 southpole dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.0.40 from 00:16:36:12:39:88 (z60m) via eth0 Nov 12 11:08:05 southpole dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.0.40 to 00:16:36:12:39:88 (z60m) via eth0 I tried to solve this with help from linux-club.de, tried to place the zone files in /var/lib/named directly, allowed update by clients (!) with zone "0.168.192.in-addr.arpa" in { type master; file "db.0.168.192"; update-policy { grant * self * A TXT; }; notify yes; }; but still this did not solve the problem. Is there maybe a general problem with DDNS in 10.3?
