You have installed the closed source binary X driver module intended for use with the X shipped with openSUSE-11.1:
My ATI repo file: [ATI] name=ATI baseurl=http://www2.ati.com/suse/11.0 path=/ type=rpm-md enabled=1 autorefresh=1 gpgcheck=1 keeppackages=0 When I check my Squid log file, I find: GET http://www2.ati.com/suse/11.0/x86_64/x11-video-fglrxG01-8.573-0.1.x86_64.rpm Problem on ATI's side? Did they probably mix up drivers? But I reinstalled the two packages already, no change. I also tried the "source" package from ATI called ati-driver-installer-9-1-x86.x86_64.run, it caused exactly the same problem. Stefan wrote:
Probably this is an utterly messed up system.
This is a fresh install of the OS 11.0. plus official openSUSE 11.0 online updates, ATI rep for 11.0, KDE3/Backports repos and some other stuff. No extra kernel repos, etc. The repos didn't change since I set up the system. The driver did work, checked that with glxgears. My updates repo file: [updatesgwdg] name=OpenSUSE Updates baseurl=http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/update/11.0/ path=/ type=rpm-md enabled=1 autorefresh=1 gpgcheck=1 keeppackages=1 [updatestm] name=OpenSUSE Updates baseurl=http://www.mit.telemotive.de/software/opensuse/update/11.0/ path=/ type=rpm-md enabled=0 autorefresh=0 gpgcheck=1 keeppackages=1 As you can see, the rsync'ed update repo on the company server is disabled. Additionally, an fgrep like fgrep 11.1 /etc/zypp/repos.d/* returns nothing at all. When I check ftp5.gwdg.de, the German mirror I used, I also find exactly the installed xorg version. I'll try to do a forced reinstallation of all xorg packages once more, but I assume I''ll have the same problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
