hm i installed:
kernel-desktop-2.6.32.4-0.0.12.809d52c.i586
.. and base in addition via rpm -i;
When starting this kernel from boot, i am getting the following: (wrote it
down, because i had no other chance in capturing the output):
Waiting for device /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST3808110AS_4LS2WX2A-part6 to appear
...... (dots continueing ... ) and then:
Could not find /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST3808110AS_4LS2WX2A-part6.
Then it says:
Want me to fall back to /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST3808110AS_4LS2WX2A-part6 (Y/n)
Y or N doesnt matter... i am getting some kind of shell which i am not firm
with.
Also there are messages like this:
WARNING: All config files need /etc/modprobe.de/generic_serial-blacklist. It
will be ignored in a future release.
The system doesn't get so far that i could tell you about the required
information. I am ending up in a shell which i am not firm with. Need to
CRTL+ALT+DELETE?
The menu.lst looks correct! I compared it with my working one... so? Can i get
around this in order to get so far to gather the required information?
Many thanks so far...
Greetings,
R
