http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=543704 Summary: Webcam 0c45:600d doesn't work because of kernel configuration Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 7 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: zajec5@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; pl) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.00 openSUSE 11.2 is compiled with sn9c102 driver which is bugged and not maintained. It is supposed to support my 0c45:600d but it doesn't work. There exists working replacement in gspca, but it's being disabled during compilation due to sn9c102 enabled. Please, see: drivers/media/video/gspca/sonixb.c:
#if !defined CONFIG_USB_SN9C102 && !defined CONFIG_USB_SN9C102_MODULE {USB_DEVICE(0x0c45, 0x6007), SB(TAS5110, 101)}, /* TAS5110D */ {USB_DEVICE(0x0c45, 0x6009), SB(PAS106, 101)}, {USB_DEVICE(0x0c45, 0x600d), SB(PAS106, 101)}, #endif
So the solution seems to be to disable sn9c102 driver, which as already told is bugged and not maintained. You may see: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12180 for details.
