https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=681098 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=681098#c0 Summary: crypt init scripts does ignore (parts) of crypttab while systemd doesn't Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: timshel@rocketmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 If I install openSUSE 11.4 and add an entry like for example home /dev/sda3 none luks to /etc/crypttab and add this to fstab /dev/mapper/home /home ext4 defaults 0 2 the crypt init scripts should ask me during boot for my password but they don't. Booting fails because /dev/mapper/home can't be found which happens of course while the luks device wasn't opened during boot. But if I add in the same case init=/boot/systemd to the boot parameter I get asked for my passphrase and home is mounted fine. So this seems to be a bug in the standard crypt init script. I have read somewhere that you should use something like cr_sda3 but my line is a valid crypttab entry too so it should work like it does with systemd. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a luks device and format it with a file system 2. add it to /etc/crypttab and /etc/fstab 3. reboot Actual Results: You don't get asked for a password during boot. Expected Results: You should get asked for a password during boot. There is probably a way to make it work even without systemd but it doesn't work by default. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
